I do try to keep away from the kerb when parking so my wheels still looked fine even for a 3½ year old car - happy to report the guys at Smart Wheels have restored the wheel - looks brand new. Added bonus was Andrew kindly offered us a lift to the café in Brooklands Park where we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast while waiting for the work to be carried out.
